Curtain Club Theatre

400 Newkirk Road, Richmond Hill, ON L4C 3G7

Curtain Club Theatre, established in 1954, boasts a rich history of community theater in Richmond Hill, Ontario. From humble beginnings rehearsing in members' homes to its current state-of-the-art facility on the corner of Newkirk and Elgin Mills, the club has continually evolved. Notably, it played host to the Royal Canadian Air Farce's early broadcasts and has expanded its premises over the years, including a recent renovation for enhanced accessibility and comfort. The club has garnered acclaim through its participation in Theatre Ontario festivals, consistently showcasing outstanding productions, and it remains dedicated to supporting local charities and nurturing young talent through initiatives like Charity Night performances and the Cicely Thomson Scholarship. Run entirely by volunteers, Curtain Club Theatre stands as a beacon of artistic excellence and community spirit in Canada.

This project is funded in part by the Government of Canada through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario).
