On August 1, Richmond Hill's Central Public Library was brimming with energy as we gathered to celebrate Emancipation Day. Hosted by MP Majid Jowhari, Mayor David West, the @York Region Alliance of African Canadian Communities, and the Richmond Hill Public Library, the event was a meaningful tribute to the achievements of individuals of African descent and the important contributions of Black Canadians to our society.
Our community came together to delve into the history of Emancipation Day and reaffirm our dedication to combating discrimination and racism.
